Andrew (Andy) Wilcox was born in 1950 and grew up on the East Coast. He attended The Choate School and then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University. After working at Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco for three years he returned to school and received a Masters degree in international business from the American Graduate School of International Management.
Wilcox was then recruited by Pan American World Airways and worked for three years in Guatemala, Venezuela and Miami, Florida. He rejoined the banking industry in Miami, signing on with Manufacturers Hanover's "Edge Act" (international) office there. After being given increasing levels of responsibility in international and U.S. commercial banking (in the process moving from Miami to Houston), Wilcox returned to San Francisco and joined the bank's corporate trust division. There he became general manager of Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company of California, specializing in stock transfer and bond trusteeship services for Western corporations. Following subsequent mergers and acquisitions, Wilcox became managing director of Mellon Bank's stock transfer business west of the Mississippi River, ultimately responsible for more than 800 stock transfer clients. He left Mellon in 2004 to become a senior vice president at Computershare -- another leading stock transfer agent -- and in 2006 formed Shareholder Service Solutions, Inc.
Wilcox became President of both the National Investor Relations Institute, San Francisco Chapter, and the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, Northern California Chapter, and served on those organizations' advisory boards for 17 and 18 years, respectively.
